Brake fluid

Brake fluid, a type of hydraulic fluid, is used for both disc and drum brake and clutch systems of motor vehicles and motorcycles. A lack of brake fluid can cause brake failure.

The main role of brake fluid is to transfer braking force from the brake master cylinder to the braking mechanisms of the individual wheels. But brake fluid also lubricates and protects the individual hydraulic components from corrosion.
